Hedging of Options in Jump-Diffusion Markets with Correlated Assets
نویسنده
چکیده مقاله:
We consider the hedging problem in a jump-diffusion market with correlated assets. For this purpose, we employ the locally risk-minimizing approach and obtain the hedging portfolio as a solution of a multidimensional system of linear equations. This system shows that in a continuous market, independence and correlation assumptions of assets lead to the same locally risk-minimizing portfolio. In addition, we investigate the sensitivity of the risk with respect to the variation of correlation parameters, this enables us to select the more profitable portfolio. The results show that the risk increases, with increasing the correlation parameters. This means that to reduce risk it is necessary to invest in low correlated assets.

Hedging index options with few assets
We consider hedging strategies against contingent claims depending on a large number of assets (typically options on an index). We introduce strategies involving a limited number of assets and give explicit formulae to characterize optimal strategies. Numerical methods to compute these formulae are also discussed. The purpose of this paper is to apply some ideas that appeared in the recent deve...
متن کاملOptions Pricing in Jump Diffusion Markets during Financial Crisis
In this paper, we suggest a jump diffusion model in markets during financial crisis. Using risk-neutral pricing, we derive a partial differential equation (P.D.E.) for the prices of European options. We find a closed form solution of the P.D.E. in the particular case where the stock price is too large. Then, we use such a solution as a boundary condition in the numerical treatment of the P.D.E....
متن کاملPricing and Hedging Options on Defaultable Assets
In general, contingent claims on assets which may default during the duration of the contract cannot be priced and hedged consistently. This is due to the fact that the possibility of a default event brings in an extra uncertain factor, and there are therefore too few assets to construct a hedge against all sources of uncertainty. In this paper we show that consistent pricing and hedging is sti...
متن کاملPricing and Hedging of Quantile Options in a Flexible Jump Diffusion Model
This paper proposes a Laplace-transform-based approach to price the fixed-strike quantile options as well as to calculate the associated hedging parameters (delta and gamma) under a hyperexponential jump diffusion model, which can be viewed as a generalization of the well-known Black–Scholes model and Kou’s double exponential jump diffusion model. By establishing a relationship between floating...
متن کاملPricing and hedging of lookback options in hyper-exponential jump diffusion models
In this article we consider the problem of pricing lookback options in certain exponential Lévy market models. While in the classic Black-Scholes models the price of such options can be calculated in closed form, for more general asset price model one typically has to rely on (rather time-intense) MonteCarlo or P(I)DE methods. However, for Lévy processes with double exponentially distributed ju...
متن کاملHedging Basket Options by Using a Subset of Underlying Assets
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the use of Principal Component Analysis in finding the efficient subset of underlying assets for hedging European basket options. This asset selection technique can be used together with other hedging strategies to enhance the hedging performance. Meanwhile, it become practical and essential when some of the underlying assets are illiquid or even not ...
